Moments that Brings Us 08.30.02

Matthew Mangulabnan, a visual photographer, based in Manila, Philippines is an individual who uses photography to shape the moments that he surrounds himself with. May it be the appreciation of the humaneness of emotions or the interactions of humans that drives him. With photography, it becomes a fascination that allows him to understand the nuances of the world around him. Some moments are meant to given the highlight that it deserves and for that it allows the moment to have a life of its own, to be cherished, evenmore, to be worth experiencing. ‍

The medium of photography has allowed him to seek a certain truth that has been awaiting for him to unravel. To transcend moments and  experiences to tenderness in intimate interactions that seems impossible to mitigate.. The photograph that he allows himself to breathe with creates this aged portrayal of portraits that otherwise won’t be able to be created if without given the chance to allow himself to immersed into the state of what photography can be to him.

Lastly, Matthew allows himself to be known as a photographer whose humanity comes first. Although it may not be seen but it would be felt. The translation would be one of his last projects that he would ever create for himself; it was one of the things that he felt that would make himself connect the ableness to be understood through his own hardships.
